Clean and sweet — that's what we're looking for.

We are ATRI, a specialty coffee research company in Amsterdam. Our work begins with curiosity: finding unique green coffee, understanding what makes them clean and sweet, and bringing that character into your cup.

  1. Seek distinctive lots

We work with the key specialty green coffee suppliers, exploring newest arrivals from the farms around the globe and rare varieties such as Geisha for their unique taste profiles.

  2. Let the cup decide

We taste a wide range of green coffee samples, comparing aroma, sweetness, acidity, texture and finish. Clarity and sweetness are what we listen for.

  3. Select the special ones

Only a small selection becomes part of ATRI. Rarity interests us; a clean, sweet, memorable cup earns its place.

  4. Roast for character

Each coffee gets its own profile, developed on a Loring roasting machine together with our roasting partners. We shape the heat throughout the roast to highlight the distinct flavour that we are looking for in each batch.

  5. Keep improving

With every new roast, we taste again and fine-tune the profile even further. Each batch teaches us something for the next.

Once we choose the beans, we spend time on its profile — adjusting the heat to bring out the sweetness and clarity we first tasted, then tasting again. Nothing leaves without passing our table twice. Each batch helps us refine the next.

That care carries through to the way you brew: whole beans when you want to grind and prepare each cup yourself, or drip bags when you want the same coffee in a simpler form, each type requires different roasting profile to maximise the flavour that we are looking for.

Experience in every cup.

Lily, our founder, brings her experience from competing on the biggest coffee championship around the globe to our coffee selection and roasting. Her attention to taste and preparation runs through the coffees we choose, the profiles we build, and every cup we share.
